The unphotographable, that which cannot be photographed, presents the prints of the exhibition of the same name held at the Fraenkel Gallery of San Francisco.

Can a thought, time, spirits, death, dreams be stopped and seized by a camera? Alfred Stieglitz, Sophie Call, Man Ray, Glenn Ligon and many anonymous photographers of the 19th and early 20th century seem to have been asking themselves this very question since the photographic medium was first invented. Does anything beyond the visible exist? Beyond what we see?
